About

I was first introduced to audio recording in 2004 when I began volunteering for the audiovisual department at my church group, which was just starting to record the many speakers who came to visit. I soon became the leader of that department. Within a year, a friend and I started AudioVerse.org, a website dedicated to sharing the recordings we were making. This website has grown by leaps and bounds, attracting close to 20,000 unique visitors per month and providing over 80,000 downloads per month (as of Winter 2008-2009.)
My work for this website and other media projects has given me a lot of experience with portable audio recorders. I started BestAudioRecorders.com in February 2009 in order to share my knowledge of this field with my colleagues, to give people a resource to visit when they ask me which recorder to buy, and to hopefully generate an income stream that would help sustain us as we build our other ministry projects.
I am originally from Elkhorn, Nebraska, USA, a suburb of Omaha. I am the oldest of three brothers, all Engineers. Life has taken me through some interesting career turns, including being a NASA intern and a Medical Student. I am currently forging a career path based on my love of technology, especially computers and audiovisual media.
I am greatly helped in this (and most other things) by the sweetest most beautiful girl on the planet, Janine. We married in August 2007 and have made our home in southern California, USA. We don’t have any kids yet, but we hope to some day!
Take a look around! I hope you find this site educational and that it leads you to a recorder that meets your needs.
Your friend,
Curtis Farnham
