Buyer's Guide: Voice Recorders for Audio Journaling

Wed, 11 Mar 2009

Looking for a recorder for audio journaling?  Which features are best?  There's good news!  Just about any voice recorder will do.  Then how does one narrow down the list of models in order to pick one?  You'll need to think about what features and extra perks are important to you.  There may be one or two recorders with an uncommon option that you might find extremely helpful.  For instance, I've read about a Real Estate agent and Rental Property Manager who just had to have a recorder with built-in picture-taking capability.  She would take pictures of homes she was selling, and also of parts of her rental properties that needed fixing, while attaching her verbal notes about those things.  She said it was essential to have such a combined recorder so her pictures and audio notes wouldn't get separated.  I'm not sure which voice recorder she ended up with, though.  I haven't even seen such a feature in a voice recorder yet!

To narrow down your options, you might start by browsing other sections on this website which are geared toward other niche recording purposes.  They are listed at the top of our Learning Section.  Also, don't forget to check out our Buyer's Guide for Voice Recorders for general recommendations and qualities to look for, regardless of the recording purpose.
