Converting Tapes & Vinyl Records to CD or MP3
Digital media is here to stay, but if you were born before 1980, there's a good chance you've still got some old Cassette Tapes, Stereo 8's (a.k.a. Eight-tracks), or Vinyl Records lying around. The problem with these formats is that it's getting harder and harder to find players for them.
Plus, all analog media wears down over time. Spindle lubricants dry out and get saturated with dirt. Tape stretches. Records get scratched. But digital audio files like MP3 don't experience these problems! They can be played over and over again without wearing out. Wouldn't it be nice to preserve your old media by converting them to MP3, CD, or another digital format?
