Recording Classroom Lectures
As you've sat in lectures, perhaps you've seen some of your classmates with a voice recorder sitting on the corner of their desk. Or maybe you've noticed a collection of them on the empty chairs in the front row. No, your classmates are not trying to frame the teacher! They're just trying to score higher on the examination. And it's probably working.
Why? Repetition enhances learning. Plus, it can be much quicker to listen to the same lecture again than trying to decipher your hastily scribbled notes, tracking down the instructor and asking them about what they said in lecture, or looking things up in a textbook. Furthermore, what the instructor says in class is usually much more likely to be on the exam than any other resource you might find. So it can be very helpful to hear it multiple times.
